Having served the Rio Grande Valley for 102 years, the Edelstein family is pleased to announce the acquisition of Edelstein's Better Furniture by Famsa, Inc., the United States subsidiary of Grupo Famsa, based in Monterrey, Mexico. Famsa will continue to operate Edelstein's valley wide locations, while the Edelstein family will retain ownership and operate the two Designer's Showroom locations in Brownsville and McAllen.

Grupo Famsa currently operates 350 retail locations throughout Mexico. With the acquisition of the Edelstein's Better Furniture locations in the Valley, Famsa, Inc. will operate 47 retail locations throughout the United States. Famsa, Inc. brings to the Valley a very special understanding of the Hispanic retail market, and represents the first and only Mexican owned retailer operating in the United States. The Edelstein family is pleased to help bring Famsa to the Rio Grande Valley.
